Can you lose a CNA license for something done outside of work?
shasta w asked:
Someone I know is a CNA and off the job she was charged with aggravated child abuse on her own kids. What I want to know is, in the state of Iowa, will that cause her to lose her license? I hope so since I don’t want someone who will abuse their own children giving anyone in my family medical care.

Contact the licensing board in Iowa; they will be able to tell you if such a charge invalidates the license of a CNA. I’m with you – I hope it DOES. A child-abuser has no business being trusted with someone else’s care.
